Introducing Melissa Flint, the honeybee, or the "heartless bitch"?

The name Melissa comes from the Greek mélissa, meaning “bee,” drawn from meli — “honey.” In contrast, Flint speaks of someone hard-hearted, lacking pity, warmth, or feeling.

As women, society often expects us to be the “honeybee”: sweet, gentle, humble, compliant, and quiet. But life, with its heartbreaks and challenges, tests these expectations.
